Fill the fuel tank with unleaded gasoline. In the oil tank, pour the proper oil for lawn mowers with four-stroke engines 600 ml. We recommend oil for four-stroke enginesVillager. Regularly check the oil level in the engine.

For a new lawn mower, the first oil change needs to be done after the first 5 hours of operation; next oil change is done after every 50 hours of operation. Oil change needs to be done by an authorized dealer.

Mowers with Briggs & Strattion engines use Oregon Code 77-301 spark plug, the mower with OHV engines use Oregon Code 77-303 spark plug

Knock the mower back towards the handles, it is not recommended to put the mower on its side, because of the possible occurrence of oil overflow. When the mower is knocked back you will have an open access to the blade, which can easily be removed by unscrewing a screw.

Do not start the saw until it is completely assembled and inspected.

Ensure that you have a safe footing and place the saw on the ground so that the bar and chain are not close to anything.

Before you begin starting a new chain saw, read the instruction manual. The product can be damaged if you do not follow instructions for use. User’s manual contains very important information regarding security that must be respected. When starting the device, follow the procedure below:

  • Fill the fuel tank with the proper mixture.
  • Move the power switch to the ON position.
  • Fill the fuel pump by pressing it a few times until you see fuel in the primer bulb
  • Pull back choke lever (choke).

Pull the starter cord several times 5-6 until you hear the sound of the engine. The engine turns on and immediately goes off. Further attempts at pulling the starter rope can cause overflow of the motor fuel, the so-called flooding. Do not pull the starter cord more than 50 cm, and allow it to return slowly.

After starting and stopping the engine, return the choke lever (choke) to its original position by pushing the lever forward.

Repeat pulling the starter rope until the engine starts.

Gently press the throttle lever to turn off the throttle blocker

Before you start cutting switch off the chain brake by pulling the brake lever towards you

  1. Place the unit on a flat, dry surface
  2. Remove the spark plug from the device and remove the cap from the spark plug
  3. Open choke for the flow of air and then pull the starter 8-10 times to discharge the excess fuel out of the cylinder
  4. Leave the saw in the open air for 20 minutes so that fuel from cylinder evaporates
  5. Dry the spark plug and put it back in its place
  6. Perform the normal starting of the device as it is shown in the manual without activating the choke

If you cannot start the engine, the problem is usually related to the delivery of fuel and lack of electricity. Make sure the fuel is supplied to the carburetor and the cylinder. Check whether the spark plug throws sparks. If everything is in order there is a possibility that there an overflow of fuel occurred – device flooding. If the problem persists, we recommend that you contact your nearest Villager service center.

Villager products with two-stroke engines run on a mixture of petrol and two-stroke oil. We recommend the use of Villager two-stroke oil. The ratio between the petrol and the oil is 40:1. Do not use diesel fuel.

Fuel should not be stored in the device because it can create layers that adversely affect the operation of the engine and the mixture loses its lubricating properties of the engine. If the unit is to be stored for longer than 30 days, empty the fuel tank, start the machine and let it run until it goes off at its own. Then you can be sure that there is no fuel in the device fuel supply system.

Air filter must be cleaned after every 5 hours of operation. Replace air filter once a year. Replacement of the fuel filter needs to be done once a year.

Use Oregon Code 77-324 spark plug

For lubrication of the bar and chain Villager recommends chain oil - lancol Villager.

If the engine is running and the chain is not rotating, check whether the chain brake, which is located on the front of the chainsaw in front of the front handle, is activated. Deactivate the brake by pulling the brake lever back. If the chain is still not rotating, go to the nearest service center.

Do not start the trimmer until it is completely assembled and inspected.

Place the trimmer on the ground and make sure that the cutting tool is at a sufficient distance from any obstacles or people.

Before you begin starting a new trimmer, read the instruction manual. The product can be damaged if you do not follow instructions for use. User’s manual contains very important information regarding security that must be respected. When starting the device, follow the procedure below:

Fill the fuel tank with the proper mixture.

Move the power switch located on the trimmer handle to the ON position.

Block the throttle lever in half throttle position

Fill the fuel pump by pressing it a few times until you see fuel in the primer bulb

Pull back choke lever (choke), activate the choke

ear head must be lubricated regularly to prevent damage to the gearbox caused by great friction. During the cutting season, lubrication checks are done every 15 days. Loosen the screw for lubricating at the gear head, if there is grease on the screw the lubrication is not necessary, if there is no grease on the screw you need to perform lubrication. For lubrication Villager recommends Oregon graphite grease.

Before operation start, it is compulsory to check if unit guard is correctly mounted, depending on whether the procedure is performed with thicknessing or planing. If the guard is not installed correctly, the device cannot be put into operation because electrical switch positioned on the guard, that gives or takes away power to the unit, activates it.

In order to use  device function ("gera") cutting, cutting at various angles you need to raise working board of the unit, so that the blade is drawn in, evened with the upper working board so that the person operating the machine does not have the possibility of physical contact with the saw and then fix it with screw located on the left side just below the board. Raising the board in the upper position activates or deactivates the electric switch for this device function and therefore it will not work.

You must not repair on your own devices that are within warranty period because in that way you lose the right to the warranty. In the event that the unit is out of warranty and you want to fix it yourself, check the following. First of all you should check whether the brush of the unit are consumed which is one of the symptoms of a breakdown. On some devices, they are easily replaceable since it is not necessary to open the housing of the device and the other models require removing of the cover and taking out the worn brushes. Replace both brushes and use the original ones set by the manufacturer. If the unit still does not operate properly send it to an authorized service center for defect inspection and possible repair.

If you were cutting or grinding materials that create a great amount of dust (cutting bricks, tiles and the like.), try to clean the air vents that supply cooling air inside the unit. It is preferable to send the unit to an authorized service center to have it cleaned and lubricated in order to avoid serious malfunction. First of all, you need to know that there are special angle grinders for cutting such materials with an intake filters that prevent runoff of fine particles inside the device.

Always after long operation leave the unit to operate without load, at idle for 2-3 minutes for the engine and other parts cool.

Make sure that all parts and screws on the unit are sufficiently tightened. Pay attention whether disk you use for working is correct, i.e., that there is no damage, whether it is even and whether it is correctly placed in the bearing housing. Piece you are working on must be fixed and properly tightened.

Device set (carrying case) of all of our devices includes a small packaging of grease with which it is necessary to lubricate the tip of the tool from time to time, whether it is a tool to drill or chisel and put it back in the tool holder of the device. The same procedure goes for devices with SDS plus and SDS max tool holder. Simply immerse the tool in the grease some 5-10 mm and slide it back to tool holder, and then push the tool back and forth several times to ensure the grease to be applied evenly inside the tool holder.

Use a dust shield when performing an operation that could cause filling of the device and the tool holder with the dust.

Each device on which there are transmission mechanisms (gears) should be lubricated. On some models from our range of devices, there is a cover on top of the device that is to be removed and where the lubrication of mechanisms should be done. After removing the cover, see how much the gears are lubricated and add the amount of grease accordingly. For lubrication you can use lithium grease for transmission mechanisms or other greases used for lubricating gears and other components (''axle grease"). The period between the lubrication should be adjusted to the intensity of working with the device; the device that is used more should be checked and lubricated more often. Clean and well-maintained equipment will have a longer service life. There are devices which cannot be lubricated without disassembling the mechanism. Such devices are to be sent to an authorized service where professionals can do it and at the same time they can examine the device and its condition. The highest quality lubrication of mechanism in these devices, whether they have the above mentioned cover or not, can be done only in authorized services that will perform the most professional and reliable lubrication.

Device set always includes a replacement pair of brushes that can be replaced when it comes to their wear. On some models, replacing them can be done easily because the replacement is done without dismantling the unit. It is enough to unscrew the caps on the housing unit, pull them out and replace them both. On models that require disassembly of the device, the best choice is to send them to an authorized service where professionals will do it. When sending to a service, please send the device with the brushes obtained with the device if they are not previously worn out.

These devices have so called work cycles ("X") i.e. performance characteristics whose values fall during operation. Work cycle is expressed in percents "%" for a period of 10 minutes, i.e. the time of intensive work and break time (e.g. 30% - 3 min of intensive work and 7 min of break time). When the thermal protection indicator on the device lights, one should plan the break time for device because otherwise the device itself will turn it off by the time the system is again ready for operation. This is one of the main reasons why it happens that the device stops working and after a while it operates again. If the device does not function after indicators go off please send the device to an authorized service facility.
